Welcome and Enjoy!!

Happy New Year!! This has been a great cake year for me and I am so glad that I have been able to share them with all of you. Some through just pictures and some through actually eating and enjoying the cakes. This year my goal is to improve more, help more, teach more, learn more, and keep getting better and better to eventually do cakes full time! Fingers crossed! I hope you all have sweet dreams and happy goals to chase after and conquer this year. Always remember.............its because you deserve it!

Basketball

This was pretty fun to make, it is a half sheet cake frosted with buttercream and then brushed with a pastry brush with some brown food coloring to give it the wood floor look. The ball is a half circle pan covered with tip #5 buttercream circles. Super easy and looked just like a real ball!!

Releif Society

This was another one for a church activity. It is marble cake covered in mmf. The designs and the words are piped with buttercream and then brushed with the lustre dust to make it gold. The hearts are fondant.

Space

This one was so neat in person. The space ship is an oval shaped cake that I put onto a square cake. The whole thing is covered with mmf and then airbrushed with the lustre powder to make it look sparly like space. The planets are actually styrophome balls covered with the fondant and then painted. The smoke and fire are buttercream.

Car crash

I had a lady call and tell me that they were having a party because they totaled their car. Kind of strange I know, but it was an older car and they were happy to be rid of it and get a new one. So for their party I made them this one. The car itself is cake that I cut and shaped into a car and then covered it with mmf and crushed in the side of it and colored it all with buttercream, then I put the car on a regular 9x13 cake and made it look kind of like an icy road.

Girl Scouts

One of my neighbors was a troop leader and asked me to do a cake for a ceremony they were having. This one I had a hard time covering the whole thing with the fondant, so I had to improvise. The top is chocolate mmf with buttercream for the picture, the sides are buttercream and then I pressed into it chopped up chocolate chips. I think it looks like a big ice cream sandwich!

Butterfly

I used a half sheet cake and then cut it in the shape of the butterfly then covered it with mmf. Then I airbrushed the whole thing with the lustre powder to make it look sparkly . All little girls like sparkle!

BumbleBee

Okay I know youre thinking "yeah right that thing is not a cake!" Well it is not ALL cake but it is all edible. It was actually a lot easier than you might think, my genious of a husband came up with the great idea to use the bumblebee mask that you can buy at the store. So I covered the mask with gumpaste and let it harden, then I took it off of the mask and placed it over the cake and added all the detail out of mmf. This one truly received the jaw dropping response I hoped for!

Pirate

I think this one was super cute! It was a marble cake covered in chocolate buttercream, which is sooooo good by the way! The sand is crushed up chocolate chip cookies, the coins are mmf that I cut with round cutters and then indented the letters to make their names. The words, chest, boy and trees are all color flow that I made a pattern from and just filled in with the icing. It looked so awesome!

Wedding Cake

This was my very first wedding cake. Not the picture I had in my head but everyone loved it just the same. It is completely covered in mmf and the flowers are made from buttercream.

Slumber party

This is one of my favorites! It was a last minute order for a slumber party.
For the little girl I used mmf and shaped it into her body and then covered with mmf that I colored and cut it into squares to make the quilt. The hair is also mmf that I cut into small strips and braided together. The flowers were done using a flower cutter.

Las Vegas

This was my first really big order and was so fun to make. My sister was in town so I had her helping me and she was very stressed out and nervous, but she was a great helper!
All three tiers are covered in mmf, the dice were cut with small cookie cutters and painted with food coloring, all other shapes were cut using a pattern that I made and then painted, the dice were just hand shaped into squares, and the cards were made from colorflow icing.

Lighthouse

This was done for a church group, they gave me one of their invitations and I copied the picture that was on the front. This one is all vanilla buttercream, with brown sugar on the bottom for the beach.

Jersey

This cake was huge! It was 2 half sheet cakes put together and then cut into shape. The orange and blue is vanilla buttercream and the numbers and the name are marshmallow fondant.

Guam Seal

This was the Guam seal done for a friend for his birthday. It is yummy ganache, with white buttercream covering a marble cake.
